Bite light

I have been using bite lights, for a few years, now, and I thought I would pass on a few things, that have helped me out a lot. Every time I roll out of the wire, I have a red bite light that I wear around my neck (used 550 cord to make a necklace). That way I always have a light on me, even if I'm not wearing my kit. It is easy to get to whether I need to check a map, or look for something in a vehicle. Plus the fact that it is around my neck means I can stick it in my mouth to keep both hands free.

Another thing I have done, is make another smaller loop around that same necklace and put a green bite light on that one (just in case your in a non tactical situation, you have a brighter light you can use). Putting it on a seperate loop means you can grab whichever light you need in the dark.

Just a couple tips

Max_Tab,
Thanks for the post. What model light are use using for this? Does the 550cord necklace you made, incorporate some type of break-away feature to eliminate choking hazards? Got pictures?

Love the 'Gates of Fire' quote. Great book.

This sounds exactly like what I purchased last weekend. I bought a Photon Freedom microlight in Red as well as NV green ($11 each). Both are extremely light weight and come with a quick detach snap link as well as a hat clip for hands free use if you don't want to use your teeth.

They have user adjusted variable intensity LEDs or can be used with a simple click for quick on/off at full brightness. They also strobe at several different preset strobe settings: slow(5s), fast (2s), SOS strobe, morse code setting.

They are also made in IR, white, etc upon request. Handy little things!
