Science Project
Last night, while drinking beer with my team after my hockey game, I had the following thought:
Is it possible to make fermented/alcoholic Gatorade? Or maybe put electrolytes and other stuff your body needs into whiskey or beer?
LMAO

I don't know about electrolytes and all that, but I have seen those new "energy" beers. Always thought that was a dubious concept, what with alcohol and so-called energy drinks operating at cross purposes to each other. But to each his own.

LMAO!!
Not at the concept, could work, where's brewmonkey when you need him?
I laugh because any subject that starts with "Science Project" as it's title in the Gourmet Guerilla forum is just wrong. When you get the permanent orange afro counselor you might fit in better with the locals.

It would probably be eaier to fortify beer/spirits then ferment gatorade. Since most juices on the market have some kind of preservitives in them the yeast will have a tough time doing their job, if they could do it at all. It would also depend on the type of sugars that are used in those drinks as some sugars are not able to be metabolized by yeast.

How about if you use the powdered kind?

My guess is it is the same thing only put through a drying process.

I'm not sure that this thread is the best of ideas. The last thing we need is an LA lawyer haulin' ass around on skates, drunk and chugging down his "sports" drinks.

I am curious though...if he fell and got hurt after drinking his homemade pruno wannabe would he have to sue himself?

Of course not. He's a lawyer... he'd end up suing the rink, and the skate manufacturer, and Gatorade company, and probably me, too, for egging him on.

My coworkers have discussed this topic in depth. They decidedthat one should go with a decent Vodka (Skyy or one of the "Triple distilled" "Quadruple Filtered" brands, Better than Popov's, not quite as good as Grey goose or Ketel) mixed with Gatorade or some other sports drink, that had chunks of dry ice in it. The theory being that the triple filtered pure vodka is supposed to help prevent Hangovers, the Gatorade would replenish electrolytes and sugars, and the Carbonation from the Dry ice would help the concoction absorb through the stomach wall faster.
Of course, these are Sales people and machinists/gunsmiths, not nutritionists or pharmacists so take it for what it cost

I like vodka and Gatorade. Clean burn, easy morning. Stay away from the girly "ice" flavors and stick with fruit punch or grape, though. Add a little fruit and you have an interesting variation on the sangria theme.

Go with the vodka and Gatorade or OJ and Everclear. Instant gratification. Everything else requires some expertise and production time. My .02 - Peregrino

Hell, if you're going for instant gratification, My former roommate had a 3 tank convenience store type Margarita Machine. You could dump a large bottle of Vodka/Rum/ Whatever you had laying around into that thing with some kind of juice; let it run an hour or two, there you go, instant Party. The only bad part is that, While Hawaiian punch and Vodka is pretty nasty to begin with, it's really nasty when it's "pre owned" and it's also a pain in the ass to get the stains out of your carpet.
