Earthquake!
We just had a solid one. Nothing to get excited about, but my building just shook pretty good.

Only a 5.3, no biggie. Barely noticed it.
Thought that it was a big wind at first when I heard the roof creak. Looked outside and no leaves blowing, so I sorted the options figured it out and watched people run around.

Earthquake Shakes Southern California
From Times Staff Writers
An earthquake struck Southern California early this afternoon, shaking buildings across the region from the desert to the Pacific Ocean.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
The quake measured 5.3, according to Brian Grade, a spokesperson for the National Earthquake Center in Golden, Colo. The quake struck at 1:53 p.m. Pacific time.
A quake that size is widely felt and can cause slight damage near the epicenter.
The epicenter was three miles east-northeast of Yucaipa in San Bernardino County.
"We have not had any reports of any damage," said Toy Snyder, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. "But the phones are ringing off the hook."
The county sheriff's patrol station in Yucaipa was evacuated after the jolt but there was no damage to the building and the electrical and phone service were not interrupted, according to a clerk reached by telephone.
"It was felt very strongly … but nothing fell," she said.
Telephone lines were down in Yucaipa, according to police spokesperson Anthony Vega.
The quake was felt in downtown Los Angeles, Palm Desert, and office buildings swayed on the Westside.
Today's earthquake followed several other quakes during the past week. An earthquake measuring 7.0 rattled off the coast of Northern California on Tuesday evening. Authorities, in turn, issued a tsunami warning for coastal areas from Alaska to the Mexican border.
On Sunday, a quake measuring 5.2 struck 20 miles south of Palm Springs in Anza. And a larger shaker, at 7.8, hit Chile a day later, killing at least 11 people. In recent days another earthquake measuring 6.8 struck the Aleutian Islands, where it was preceded and followed by smaller quakes.

I'm glad to hear ya'll are allright. After being in the one in San Salvador in 1986, I want nothing to do with tall buildings and earthquake zones. I don't care what the building code says. Peregrino

It usually takes about 400' for the "average" round reserve to open fully. YMMV  Some of the squares can be packed to open faster but base jumpers are still screwing the pooch regularly (Darwin does work if allowed). NTM - skyscraper windows are not designed to open casually, by the time you get the chute on and the window open, the crisis will have resolve itself one way or the other. And my first jump was in August, 1977 (and some of the real FOGs had to fight off teradactyls on the way down!).  Peregrino

As ya'll know we had a 7.0 earthquake 80 miles off the Northern California coast Tuesday night. This caused tsunami warnings to go out the length of the Oregon coast. No big wave because it was a sideways shift.

We didn't feel a thing here in Arizona!
(I have been thinking about purchasing some property in Western Arizona in the off chance it would someday become beach-front property.)
