5.11 Tactical Series, a leader in outfitting law enforcement officers with clothing, day lighted the new 5.11 H.R.T. Tactical Watch at the Shot Show in Las Vegas, NV, on January 28, 2005. Designed with input from professionals in the special operations community, this one of a kind titanium watch features a “Come-up” Calculator for rifle scope adjustment designed in partnership with Horus Vision, LLC. Available in early May, the watch calculates point of aim/point of impact by allowing the user to input the critical variables necessary in determining elevation and wind adjustments on any rifle scope. Punch in your variables and the watch will then display the appropriate number of clicks...it’s that simple. This enhances the shooter’s ability to engage targets out to 1,000 meters.
The critical input variables include muzzle velocity, height above bore, altitude, temperature, wind speed, wind direction, zeroed range, angle of inclination, c1 coefficient and distance to target. Solutions can be displayed in TMOA, MILS or SMOA or can be displayed in actual clicks based on the shooter’s input.
The simple user interface allows even a novice rifleman the opportunity to improve shooting accuracy. Although the watch was originally designed for use by SWAT team snipers, it has crossover benefits in military, law enforcement and hunting shooting solutions at distances of up to 1000 yards. Most critical variables can be preprogrammed into the watch before reaching the shooting site, reducing the time required to get critical shots accurately to the target. The Horus Vision shooting software is proven technology and is now available 24/7 on a shooter’s wrist.
