5.11 Tactical Series Introduces the New H.R.T. Tactical Watch at Shot Show in Las Vegas, NV

5.11 Tactical Series, a leader in outfitting law enforcement officers with clothing, day lighted the new 5.11 H.R.T. Tactical Watch at the Shot Show in Las Vegas, NV, on January 28, 2005. Designed with input from professionals in the special operations community, this one of a kind titanium watch features a “Come-up” Calculator for rifle scope adjustment designed in partnership with Horus Vision, LLC. Available in early May, the watch calculates point of aim/point of impact by allowing the user to input the critical variables necessary in determining elevation and wind adjustments on any rifle scope. Punch in your variables and the watch will then display the appropriate number of clicks...it’s that simple. This enhances the shooter’s ability to engage targets out to 1,000 meters.

The critical input variables include muzzle velocity, height above bore, altitude, temperature, wind speed, wind direction, zeroed range, angle of inclination, c1 coefficient and distance to target. Solutions can be displayed in TMOA, MILS or SMOA or can be displayed in actual clicks based on the shooter’s input.

The simple user interface allows even a novice rifleman the opportunity to improve shooting accuracy. Although the watch was originally designed for use by SWAT team snipers, it has crossover benefits in military, law enforcement and hunting shooting solutions at distances of up to 1000 yards. Most critical variables can be preprogrammed into the watch before reaching the shooting site, reducing the time required to get critical shots accurately to the target. The Horus Vision shooting software is proven technology and is now available 24/7 on a shooter’s wrist.
ther features include:

- Water-resistant to 100 meters
- Reinforced watchband pins and strap latch
- Two watchbands: Classic black leather, Diver style black PU
- Operator controlled lighting for viewing computerized functions in the dark
- Titanium case with a rotating bezel
- Traditional watch hands with tritium coating
- Full function count down timer
- Full function chronograph
- Alarm mode
- Date mode

The suggested retail price is $249.99. For pre-order information or dealer locations see www.511tactical.com."

That's like that palm pilot program. Did you get to mess with the watch?

Yes I did see that on the wrist of USN Chief (Ret) Steven Bronson. Bronson is a man mountain and it even looked big on him so I asked him about it. Steven told me about the shooting stuff.

The case is titanium so that takes a lot of weight out of the watch.

It figures a Navy guy would need a watch that holds a handcuff key.

edited to add, from the outside it looks damned well built. I'd have to shoot a few hundred rounds thru my .44 mag revolver then my .416 Rem mag while wearing it to see if it holds up to a little work.
If it passed that test, I'd wear it at the forge.

LOL

I don't know, it doesn't look all that much bigger than my Seiko. I was thinking that now that I'm doing 175 meter pistol shots, I might need to do a little figgerin'. LOL

Sounds like the Team Sergeant has a little competition.

Thanks. Bit expensive, though.
