USAF warns Chinese North Dakota corn milling plant a security threat
The U.S. Air Force has stepped into the debate surrounding a Chinese company's proposed North Dakota corn mill, declaring it a national security risk.
Don't really like the idea of the Chinese buying up so much business in this country.

If I read the article correctly, the letter from the AF is an opine and not based on any federal law or statute.
The Mayor's comments imply he also has no legal stoppage.
Quote:
He continued, "The only remedies the city has to meet this directive is to refuse to connect industrial infrastructure and deny building permits. As mayor of the city of Grand Forks, I am requesting these remedies be undertaken and the project be stopped, pending City Council approval."

I keep hearing all of these “Chinese hawks” talking about just how worried they are about the Chinese? Am I missing something? Just what are they going to do? They can’t take an island that is right off their cost? Why the hell are they even close to being a threat to us?
It goes something like this:
China: “you give us corn from fields we own or else!”
USA: “No”
China: “you do what we say or else!”
USA: “No”
China: “YOU DO WHAT WE SAY OR ELSE WE OR ELSE YOU!!!”
USA: “No”
The Chinese have NO blue-water naval power. No all-weather aircraft-carriers. Absolutely no way to use their ground forces outside of their borders.
So, just what in the hell are they gonna do?

I'm not up on the topic of EMT weapons, but a quick google fo hit this article on the US Thor mobile EMT Gun(sic,?)
OBTW,, does anyone want to guess the payload is for the ballon??
Quote:
A separate senior official told ABC News the balloon is the size of three buses and complete with a technology bay, which the defense official said they "wouldn't characterize" as "revolutionary."

ref: THOR
Fat Albert flies over the Conch Republic: Albert's payload was large enough to carry propane gas generators for up to a month, I think. It initially was used to watch Cube, about 50 miles away and track drug flights coming from SA. The Cudjoe aerostat holds 275,000 cubic feet of helium and measures in at 186 feet with a 62.5-foot diameter.

Interesting comment by the Chinese about THEIR ballon.

“China is a responsible country. We act in accordance with international law. We have no intention in violating other countries’ airspace. We hope relevant parties would handle the matter in a cool-headed way.”
Meanwhile, Canada said on Thursday evening it is also tracking the balloon’s movements and working with their American partners, including the monitoring of a potential second incident[.

The US military decided that it would be too dangerous to shoot down the balloon. Raises the question what exactly is the balloon carrying that would be dangerous?
Likely an EMP set off over that area takes out a large part of the central US. Zero warning.

So….. the response to this would be EMP would accomplish what?
The Chinese system is collapsing. Their population is collapsing. Their currency is just slightly better than worthless toilet paper. Their political system will dissolve into near anarchy in the next decade. They have ZERO external military-projection capabilities of substantial scale.
So…. I say again, just what do they expect to achieve?
China: “release the EMP on the evil American pigs”
USA: “Meh”
China: “we just ‘OR ELSE’ you… now you in BIG BIG TROUBLE”
USA: “Meh”
China: “YOU TAKE US SERIOUS!!!”
USA: “OK, ‘all your base are belong to us’, US Navy, please stop all tankers of oil from transiting the South China Sea and starve China from over 90% of their energy”
China: “…………”
USA: (~2050) “we would like to welcome _______ (what ever country comes out of the lands of the former PRC) into the family of nations here at the UN”
Meh…. Tempest in a teapot……. Wake me up when the Chinese nuclear aircraft carriers get past Hawaii……

Inconvenient when the Air Force finds out their budget gets readdressed after a Montana Militia member takes it down on his own.

so...
ha ha ha
funny funny funny
I get it - really do.
BUT
Think about this a little deeper for just a second...
China is actively and openly spying on the United States - INSIDE the United Space from a altitude range that we use for flying our own planes...
...and they are doing it with a BALLOON
They aren't spying with a top secret satellite or some shit hot 5th Gen aircraft (besides, Captain Pete Mitchell would totally shot 5th gen aircraft right out of the sky)
A BALLOON
a mother fucking balloon
...and we are sitting by making jokes about it because someone in our government is either incompetent or complicit
a balloon
Think about that. We are spending trillions of dollars on bullshit - and China is butt fucking us - but at least they are using a condom

Definitely got my curiosity.
I don't think that balloon made it all of the way to the Rockies from Beijing. Launched from a ship? Launched from Canada? Is this just a dry run for something else? Probing our defenses? We didn't obliterate it because we wanted to gather intelligence on what THEY were doing?
All very strange...

Didn't Jack Nicholson's "Joker" use a balloon for some nefarious shit in the very first Batman Movie ??
life imitates art - and all that jazz
Maybe they are going to tell us that the balloon dropped a few spores of that virus of unknown origin that totally wasn't developed in a lab using money that totally wasn't diverted to them by Anthony Saint Fauci...
...and now you mother fuckers all gotta put your obedience masks back on.
DO IT

Couple thoughts:
1. Left of bang isn't the Aleutians, it's when it crossed into the Japanese ADIZ.
2. Somewhere the next Al Qaeda is saying, 'Hmmmm.'
