Some Overdue Medals of Honor to be Presented
From the article it appears MSG Earl Plumlee is among those to be awarded the Medal of Honor in an upcoming ceremony, 16 December.
Perhaps when it's available someone can post the specifics in the MOH sub-forum area.

Quote:
The White House announced Friday that three soldiers will be awarded the Medal of Honor, including one whose family had been fighting to see him recognized for 15 years.
The Biden Administration will award the Medals of Honor to Sergeant First Class Alwyn Cashe, Master Sgt. Earl Plumlee, and Sergeant First Class Christopher Celiz next Thursday, December 16.
Cashe saved fellow soldiers from a burning vehicle in Iraq in 2005, Plumlee fought off the enemy ambushing his Special Forces team in Afghanistan in 2013, and Celiz took fire to protect a helicopter evacuating wounded soldiers in Afghanistan in 2018.

Well done, gents.
Thank you for your service, and your sacrifices.

I maintain that Brendan O'Connor's DSC should be upgraded. If taking off your body armor to lower your profile while you crawl through an open field under machine gun fire to get to a casualty isn't Blue Max material, then nothing short of jumping on a grenade is.

While we’re at it, I’d say Tony Pryor would make a good candidate as well…. Hard to argue with a guy killing a bugger eater with his bare-hands because his boys are under fire is right up there in my book….

POTUS mispronounced (more than once) one of the names (substituting Chase for Cashe) and the citation reader read MSG Plumlee's Medal as being posthumous, while he was standing there to POTUS' right. Whoever that was I've heard better. Too much Mountain Dew, kid.
DoD DVIDS of the ceremony for those interested.
(MSG Plumlee begins at about 23:10)
"..American Polish Soldiers" ?

Curiosity question...
These guys are getting Silver Stars upgraded to MOH, so is the SS negated? I know its probably a dumb question, but I was never one of those SGMs who paid much attention to these things.
