21 Republicans to vote against medal for officers in Jan. 6 riot
If you voted for these awards,,
Are you also saying that the "rioters" were terrorists and it was an act of sedation?
Are the progressives attempting to elevate the Jan 6th capital visit to some sort of actionable DOJ witch hunt?
I think I would have voted NAY..

Barry Moore among 21 Republicans to vote against medal for officers in Jan. 6 riot, Updated Jun 15, 2021; Posted Jun 15, 2021 By Howard Koplowitz | hkoplowitz@al.com
U.S. Rep. Barry Moore, R-Montgomery, was among 21 Republicans on Tuesday to vote against a bill that overwhelmingly passed the House to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the law enforcement agencies that protected the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot.
The House passed the bill by a vote of 406-21 on Tuesday. All 21 lawmakers who voted against the bill are Republicans, including Moore.
Four Congressional Gold Medals would be awarded under the legislation, including two to be displayed at the headquarters of U.S. Capitol Police and D.C. Metro Police. A third would be displayed at the Smithsonian Institution and the fourth to be on display in the Capitol.

Should have been a lot more but the Dem's media lapdogs has the rest of them running scared.
Those 21 will probably have their names called into the "Radicalized" hot line as soon as it opens up.

Who did they protect it from? Mad and upset unarmed patriotic citizens who came to the “People’s House” to voice their opinion on the most non-transparent and corrupt election in US history? So a few windows were broken and some signs were damaged…other than a few who should be charged with those damages and unlawful trespass (those who weren’t escorted through the building by police) how many people actually broke a law?
And who murdered Ashley Babbit? Why do we not know the name of the officer who fired his weapon if his actions were deemed appropriate and justified?
In the new Democratic lexicon of words: Patriot and Citizen = Domestic Terrorist, and anarchist, arsonist, destructionist, looter and thug all = Peaceful Protest.
Something really fucked up about that kind of understanding!

From what I’ve gathered since this shooting the person in question is a full on POS but protected by higher ups.

Here it is:
Quote:
Timothy Blodgett is the House Sergeant at Arms for the House of Representatives, and in an interview with Congressional member Herrera-Buetler in a January 6 hearing just released, he dropped a name he probably shouldn’t have.
The January 6 hearing appeared on C-SPAN, and he seems to have just causally dropped the name without thinking.
“The situation where you discussed, where Officer [Byrd] was at the door when Ms. Babbitt was shot, it was our Sergeant at Arms employee who rendered the aid."
Now why would he mention officer Byrd in the context of Ashli Babbitt’s shooting? Mike Bird is an African American Lieutenant with the Capitol Police and was reported by Roll Call as having once left his service weapon in a bathroom in 2019.

My view of the available video shows a purposeful reorienting of the muzzle, so I don't buy ND. But Byrd is at top of the hit parade. A couple of Republican representatives are actually bucking McCarthy and want to get on Pelosi's witch hunt, er uh, commission so that they can ask those very questions.
Gold medals legitimize one side of the story and their awarding is part of the "winner writes the history" tradition. I wonder if any of the officers who opened the doors are to be recipients.
