Coronavirus - new ventilator

Sky News reporting new ventilator development.
Possibly 5000 @ week build rate

A new innovation from the University of Oxford may soon be able to boost that number, thanks to an innovative design for a cheaper ‘off-the-shelf’ version.

Well brilliant. A mechanical Bag-Valve-Mask!

Yes a ventilator is a tool (machine) but usually more sophisticated than that.

There’s a lot(understatement) of chatter in the US DOD innovator community about rapid prototyping of simple/low cost improved ventilator designs and PPE.

I reckon the ventilator problem will be solved more easily than the PPE N95 problem due to relative scaling,

Good for the UK

What's the timeline for USDA approval in the U.S.?
