Color me confused.

An armed protestor, presumably upset at the pending deportation of illegal immigrants, attacked a Washington state ICE detention center and tossed incendiary devices at it.

Was he trying to save illegal immigrants, or send them up in flames?

Armed man shot, killed after throwing incendiary devices at Washington ICE detention center

Police in Washington state say an armed man was shot and killed early Saturday after trying to attack a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center.

The Seattle Times reported that the unidentified man appeared outside of the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma with a rifle and threw incendiary devices at both the facility and nearby propane tanks, at one point setting a vehicle on fire.

Officers responded to the incident around 4 a.m. and called out to the man before shots were fired. It was not clear how many shots were fired or whether the man fired at police.

Police spokesman Loretta Cool said the officers weren't wearing body cameras, but the area is covered by surveillance cameras from the detention center. The four officers involved were placed on administrative leave in accordance with the department's policy. None of them were injured.

ICE said in a statement that no employees "were harmed nor involved in this tragic incident."

The shooting took place hours after a rally in front of the detention center to protest planned mass deportation raids around the country. The Tacoma facility, which is run by the Department of Homeland Security, holds migrants pending deportation proceedings.

Cross-checking several vague MSM sources,, It looks like he was throwing road flairs. Not the most damaging of "incendiary devices" but if there had been a leak or bleed at the LP tank,, KaBoom..

About 4 a.m., 69-year-old Willem Van Spronsen threw “lit objects” at buildings and at cars in a parking lot, police said, causing a vehicle to go up in flames. Court records show the man was arrested last year at a protest at the privately owned detention center, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement called the man an “anti-immigration-enforcement protester.”.

Van Spronsen was arrested at the Tacoma facility in June 2018, court documents show, amid what a prosecutor described as a noisy protest scene that included yelling, banging on pots and pans, megaphones and honking horns.

In that incident, Van Spronsen lunged(hugged)?) at a police officer who was detaining a fellow protester at the center, according to a prosecutor’s written account. Van Spronsen wrapped his arms around the officer’s neck and shoulders to free the 17-year-old being held.
