NZSAS Trooper Steve Askin for NZer of the Year

Hi Team,

Better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission.

Our community here is rallying around former NZSAS Trooper Steve Askin to vote him in as New Zealander of the Year, People’s Choice.

Steve received medallic recognition for his service in the Unit while serving in Afghanistan during a particularly challenging period.

Post service Steve became a commercial helicopter pilot and died fighting the Christchurch Port Hills Fire while piloting a helo.

If it’s not too much trouble please click the link, scroll to the bottom and vote for Steve Askin:

Thanks in advance, and sorry if I’m out of line.

Based on open source reporting that appears to have included resolving the InterContinental attack, British High Commission attack and disrupting another significant effort to attack a major coalition target(not sure if reported) amongst other activities during a very high tempo period that also saw the loss of NZSAS troopers CPL Duggie Grant and LCPL Leon Smith.
