Boy Scouts To Admit Girls
Quote:
The Boy Scouts of America announced on Wednesday that it will admit girls into the Cub Scouts starting next year and establish a new program for older girls using the organization’s same curriculum.
In the historic move, Cub Scout dens — the smallest unit — will be single-gender, either all boys or all girls. Cub Scout packs, which are larger and include a number of dens, will have the option to welcome both genders if they choose.

Will the Boy Scouts be far behind in this?
Note: The title of this thread should be Cub Scouts, not Boy Scouts. Can a moderator correct it? Thx.

Is Girl Scouts going away?! If we're going to be all-inclusive then there is no need to segregate by gender, right?

Years of tradition down the drain.
Not sure I would have wanted my daughter in the Boy Scouts when she was a child.
What could go wrong with this plan?

Back when my son was in scouts, I recall a conversation about a Explorer Scouts group that was inclusive of girls. They went on camping and hiking trips with little or no adult supervision. A mother in our group mentioned that the teen age daughter of a friend of hers, went on one of those excursions and came home pregnant. The mom was blaming the unsupervised outting, but in reality the same thing could have happened after a HS football game or after party in the back seat of a car......Kids will be kids and they will follow the laws of nature when allowed to do so.
I hate to see the Boy Scouts changing tradition, but on another hand, I frequently took my youngest daughter on Cub Scout outings because I had no one to watch her for the weekend. There were never any issues and the Scout leaders got a chuckle that she was always the first in line no matter what the activity or challenge.

Siblings were allowed to attend Cub Scout campouts along with the rest of the family, and older girls were welcomed to the Boy Scouts CREW, where they went regularly on their own co-ed outings, under the auspices and supervision of the Scouts.
Why do they need to be "Boy Scouts" now?
This nation is being torn apart by the libtards.
I hope they are happy with the results when it finally breaks.

Probably keep telling themselves this could never happen to them.

The next logical step in this whole ridiculous chain is to demand they get rid of gender pronoun in the organization's name because it is not inclusive enough.

I was going to push for "The All-Inclusive, Completely Nondiscriminatory Organization Formerly Known as the Boy Scouts of America"

boy scout ceo salary
girl scout ceo salary
I'm done with both of these "corporations" using kids for profit and what a profit.
I don't think there a charity/501 3c out there that isn't set up to make people rich.
61 cents goes to the girl scout troop for selling a $4 box of cookies. You can do the math. It might have started as a nice idea but that idea is long since dead.

Most non-profits are making someone rich. Scouts, Wounded Warriors, Soccer, etc., the non-profit status is a scam.

I had a non profit org for 6 years, the "Save Iowa's Civil War Monument Foundation." It is a pain in the ass to get that status and if you are not well heeled you better know someone who will be willing to donate their legal expertise for drawing up by-laws and a lot of other crap. I do not doubt for one minute that there is a lot of scamming going on in regards to non profits and their fundraising. My little pet project only needed 300K and when it was raised the non profit was disbanded. Most of the time I felt like the Maytag repairman, ask me how rich I got at the end of those 6 years. I will not paint all non profits with a broad brush, some people genuinely care and have a passion for their cause. I actually had a county officer from the American Legion tell me why should we care about a civil war monument those guys are all dead, try to raise money with that kind of ignorance out there.
