Holy crap! I remember that show! It was a Sci-Fi awards show and several of my siblings and I were sitting around the TV laughing our asses off. We never knew Cpt. Kirk could be such a goofy comedian. To this day, anytime I see him on screen, that memory always pops up.

He pressed some albums, too. While it was really cringe worthy, I came to realize that he didn't really take himself, well his fame, that seriously.

I had a long time neighbor in Hollywood that was also an actor from Canada who had worked with Shatner and couldn't stand him as an actor. Here is my neighbor as Mauric in Next Generation:

The last funny moment I recall about Shatner was when he and Sarah Palin did a beat poetry reading from each other's autobiography on the Conan O'Brien Show.
