US Strikes Syria
60+ Tomahawks.
IMHO, not really all about Syria.
1. Message to Russia that we don't need their permission
2. Stage setter for tomorrow's discussion with the Chinese re: DPRK.
3. Message to the wored that we don't f**k around
Main audience is the Chinese re: DPRK

I think that this was a mult-tiered response, agreed. Apparently the missiles were in flight while President Trump was at dinner with the Chinese president. Lots of messaging with this one. We'll see what comes next and if Assad wants to double down.

Another message...for domestic consumption: This Administration is not a lacky for Putin.
This IMHO, is no shit big-boy Grand Strategy in action.
But on a more somber note...Trump the nu SF I Ness man is now in full understanding of his role as POTUS. He has the power of life or deathave over people. Tonight he goes to bed a killer, although someone else aimed the weapons. How does this affect him?

Would love to see the radar tracks as 60 1000 pounds of explosives rained down on one airfield.

I agree. I can only imagine some Syrian radar operator on that base, watching 60 Tomahawks come blazing his way.

It makes him look like a hypocrite sell out... Throughout his entire campaign his stance was to leave Syria alone, America first, and no more bs regime change.
I can't get behind this becuase the "moderates" we're backing are absolute monsters. Also, it's already been confirmed the 2013 gas attack was launched by Turkey & Al-Qaeda and NOT Assad. The link below at 4:04 has VA Senator Richard Black's detailed explanation on the 2013 gas attack.
https://youtu.be/0FNtEWfay_8
The White Helmets were the first on the scene to report this week's "gas attack." Interesting enough they were immediately on the scene with cameras ready and minimal protective gear. These guys are not to be trusted, are Al-Qeada/ISIS supporters, and propaganda outlets.

Why would Assad gas some random village with no strategic value while winning the war, knowing the risk of international involvement? If he were to use them, it would be at a strategic battle as a desperate measure.
These "gas attacks" have been false flag attacks to dupe us into removing Assad. If the secular pro-western Assad falls, we will have another Al-Qaeda/radical Islamist controlled state prompted up in the Middle East. How does removing Assad benefit the United States?
Apologies, I don't mean to rant but I've always known and had a history with Syrians and want to see them with a free prosperous country.
Hopefully nothing escalates past these missiles. What they accomplished was give Al-Nursah (Al-Qaeda) an opening for an offensive.

Agree or disagree with the limited strike, but this is in no way regime change, and not a precursor to a large invasion, endless occupation and impossible nationwide rebuilding project.
I believe this to be a master stroke by Trump. Sends messages to all who need to hear them. Most importantly the Chinese whom he is talking with right now and North Korea. THAT is the real ROI of those 60 tomahawks.

Using chemical weapons got a little less casual, something that has been important to us up until the last administration. I wonder if the liberal left will be able to process this?
Will others...

I've been reading this from both sides. The left says "of course! Same ol same ol", libertarians - "we have no business meddling in other countries business", the right - "false flag, this sarin attack is staged".
While I have nothing to contribute, I do echo Mustang Man's trepidation and I do have some doubt that the attacks happened, and I also wonder if Assad pulled the trigger, as it were.

News reports that it took 30min to launch them all from two ships.. missiles loitered so that all achieved a near simultaneous TOT. 1 failed to reach target.
Nothing on the news but, because it is not, we can assume that theRussian AS400did not fire to shoot down any missiles.
