Long Tab beret flash question

A collector friend asked me this so I figured I'd shake the trees. In Viet Nam, there were a lot of non-regulation/non-issue flashes worn. (plenty of photos prove this) In my 25 years, post VN, only saw 2 non-issue flashes worn. One was the 7th El Salvador flash, LNOs in the embassy wore them, gave them to us as well, but we NEVER wore our berets TDY, except for indig graduation. The other was in Kuwait, a 5th GP team wore a 5th flash with a diagonal stripe and a palm tree, also for KW indig graduation. There is an enormous number of flashes out there that are attributed to SFODAs. I know guys had some made as souvenirs, never worn. There are a huge number of SF flashes that are pure fantasy/BS flashes out there. Ones that I know of are the 7th SF "Hatcha" ODA flashes. Made by a MI REMF, who tried to sell them to the ODAs.
My question is. after this long query, have any of you long tabbers out there actually seen any non-issue flashes being worn, and if so, where and when?
Thanks,
SC Pete
