Chimney sweeps!

Had a visit from Bert and the gang this afternoon. I love how folks here play their "roles":

That 2nd pic is cool. I've heard (but do not know) that this particular manner of dress on the job is a not insignificant thing to a sweep.

Apparently a "handshake for luck" is also traditional. This couple wore makeup to make themselves look more like Dick Van Dyke and the gang. The handshake was with a sooty hand but the makeup didn't come off. Pretty cheap service, too; about half of what we paid in LA without the entertainment value. I did suggest that the wife should dress like Mary Poppins, though.
