Boeing CEO vows to build new Air Force One for less after Trump complaints
Published December 21, 2016

The CEO of Boeing told President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday that his company can build a new Air Force One for less than originally quoted -- after Trump complained about the cost.

Earlier this month, Trump made headlines for blasting the company on Twitter for alleged cost overruns with the new fleet of Air Force One planes.

Trump called on the government to cancel the contract and called the supposed $4 billion price tag out of control.

Boeing’s Dennis Muilenburg, who met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., addressed the media after the meeting and said, “We’re going to get it done for less than that, and we’re committed to working together to make sure that happens.”

Anthony Scaramucci, a Trump adviser the founder of SkyBridge Capital, tweeted about the price reduction and called it a “big win for taxpayers.”

Trump treated this Air Force One deal as if it was his own money being spent not government money. That's pretty refreshing isn't it? He obviously is not a politician.
Merry Christmas tax-payers.

Yous guys ain't seen nothin yet!! His cabinet appointments are mostly top tier business types and on January 21 you will begin to hear screams of anguish and a giant sucking sound (to paraphrase Ross Perot) emanating from DC as the professional bureaucrats begin to get pink slips.

This is going to happen very fast and heads will be spinning. Can't wait to watch the histrionics.

That would be great but the appointees are the only ones that can be release fast. It takes a lot to get rid of federal employees. It would be fun to watch though.

All true, and good. But on a selfish note, as a contractor I would love to see an end to LPTA bidding and a return to Best Value. There aren't too many other fields where longevity sees your pay go down rather than up.

It would be more enjoyable if we had snipers set up around DC to pick off the turds so they can't go off and reconstitute a new strategy like a government in exile.

Everything we have and use in the military is courtesy of the lowest bidder I suspect that Trump will redefine the lowest bidder that may look something similar to a free market where quality may go up and cost goes down. As competition increases.
