It's time to cut off federal funds to sanctuary cities. Let's see how strong their convictions are when uncle sugar's free money goes away.

Yes cut them all off ! NYC and Chicago will not be assisting with draining their own swamps either. It will be in Trumps hands soon. When they raided the packing plants here awhile back under George W. the illegals made themselves real scarce.

The Feds don't have to cut off shit. I think the appropriate references for those locals would be words like "harboring" "facilitating" "obstruction of justice" etc.

State and local governments do not have to enforce federal law. They are well within their rights to say they won't. However, they can't prohibit communication between departments (i.e.-feds ask for info about an illegal or a local officer wants to report one to the feds). That knife cuts both ways and the feds are well within their rights to cut off all LE grants and should do so.

Understood, and actually I want them that way. But it seems to me there is a difference between not enforcing that which they shouldn't, and actively obstructing the carrying out by the Fed of that which is the Fed's jurisdiction.

There's an interesting legislative initiative brewing in PA led by a young representative from NE Philly by the name of Martina White. She put forth a bill that, if passed, would (1) deny State funding to a sanctuary city and (2) give citizens or businesses legal recourse to sue a sanctuary city if they suffer damages from the acts of any illegal alien convicted of a felony and released rather than turned over the feds for deportation. Her bill was voted on and passed the house and is awaiting vote in the senate. It seems to have legs and the Gov said he will sign it into law.
