And...Manhattan
Something, intentional according to NYPD, goes high order in Manhattan. They won't call it terrorism...yet. However, 29 people at the blast site were injured.
Zero, none, nil, officials are linking this to the Seaside Park, New Jersey bomb that went off along the route of the Marine 5K charity run.
Personally, I am tremendously relieved. I would hate to think that two bombings on the American east coast, not that far apart, might possibly be part of a coordinated terrorist plot.
I should probably ignore that CNN report (live right now) that says LE has recovered a pressure cooker device in Manhattan with a cellphone attached.

Thankfully, it is so much more difficult to make a bomb/IED composed of high explosives in the United States.
Most of us here know the difference between a kitchen sink device (yes, Boston was that), and something much more potent. New Jersey and NYC were kitchen sink size blasts. As to the trigger, I don't know yet.
So far these turds aren't able to take out entire blocks (like the police did against MOVE in 1985).
Wait, NYPD hasn't called this terrorism. Sorry for being an alarmist.

How scared our communist, eh, I mean government officials are, to warn people of terrorism type acts so they might take action to prepare themselves for the possibility of follow on actions. What a phobia they are placing on the citizenry!

I was talking to my wife tonight about exactly that. All of the on-the-horizon self driving vehicles will make great VBIED devices even with less sophisticated explosives. Plus, no video of who placed them. We clearly live in interesting times.

PSM, that is so unlikely as to not even concern yourself about. Even with today's bombings (NYC & NJ), the most likely event the average American will encounter is street crime.
A sophisticated VBIED would be the MDCOA, or Most Dangerous Course of Action. However, it is also the least likely COA. Tesla is not going to take out your block.

I ain't concerned, I live in the desert of Arizona, but I am hoping that Tesla continues to develop cheaper, better, smaller batteries.

Meanwhile, 29 people in Manhattan are reported as wounded. Most are likely to be our fellow Americans.
Let's not get wrapped around the axle about NYPD not calling this terrorism. They won't do so until there is actual evidence that without a doubt points that way.
However, just now, still on CNN, they were telling me about a multiple stabbing at a mall where the blade wielder "referred to Allah".
"May you live in interesting times", my ass. We're living in an interesting weekend.

Interesting to note the "B" word is being studiously avoided at this point. It was an intentional explosion, not linked to terrorism.
A device designed to explode intentionally.
If only we had a word for that.
Or a word for setting one off in a residential area.
Huh.

Interesting times alright...
So let me get this straight, 3 devices in NJ & 2 more in Manhattan, as well as a knife attack in MN, but "there is no evidence at this point of a terror connection"???...move along....nothing to see here....

How could this be anything other than a terrorist act, regardless of who perpetrated it?

...I just hope nobody refers to this explosive devise as a "bomb" before some really detailed research is done on what this may have been.
This may not have been a "bomb"
...it could have been an improvised device of some sort.
We just dont know.
...more important than things that may or may not be bombs, when is Trump going to apologize for apologizing for the birther movement.

barry soetoro = Epic Fail
I'm surprised the New York Police Dept didn't call it a "firecracker".
So what does a trillion dollars a year of intelligence gathering and invading the rights of "Americans" get you?
Absolutely nothing.
We sure need a real leader, this muslim in the White House is not working out.
