As Jay Leno showed for years with his "Jaywalking" segment, the average person walking the streets of the U.S. are woefully ignorant of important topics.

Really sad as opposed to being funny.
It frustrates me that a lot of Americans are willfully ignorant in the information age--its almost criminal.
These types of interviews are the main reason I take a "jaundiced" view of the "will of the American people".

It's those types of videos -- and there are many like it -- that reinforce to me the idea that the USA is going down the tubes quicker than imaginable.
Those people are not only driving in the opposing lane as I am, but they are voting as well. People that have no concept of reality and willingly allow themselves to be led down a false trail so easily.
No critical, independent thought involved in those types of interviews.

The ignorance of today's "average" Americans continuously amazes me! I was speaking a few weeks ago with a girl who did not know who the first president of the United States was! She is about 22 yrs old and grew up in a rural setting on a farm. I gave her a bunch of shit for it and her reply was, "yeah, well at least I vote unlike a lot of other people my age". I told her she shouldn't be voting if she doesn't have any idea who our first real leader was! I could see her as one of the people on this video.
The big question: how do you educate the "average" American?

To educate the average American you have to go back to the point where the teacher's unions and federal government weren't in control of the education system. Get rid of all the touchy, feely indoctrination crap - teach the kids how to read, write, do math, study history, use their minds for critical thinking, etc.

I couldn't sit through it and watch the whole thing. (I was eating dinner, and I wanted to keep it down.)

Good point! That is a hard fix! The left-thinkers have made huge inroads in that area and we are now seeing it in today's "Americans"
