Nine people injured after Florida Mall shooting scare
By Caitlin Doornbos and Christal Hayes Contact Reporters
Staff Writer
Nine Florida Mall shoppers were injured in a frantic flee from the building after an alarm and popping sounds caused panic at the fear of an active shooter, officials said Thursday.
About 3:20 p.m., mall patrons began reporting on social media that an alleged shooting had occurred in the food court after hearing sharp popping sounds and a fire alarm. The unsettling sounds sent fearful patrons running from the mall.
Orange County Fire Medical and Orange County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene, but there was no gunman, OCSO spokeswoman Deputy Rose Silva said.
Instead, the scare was caused by an industry-standard test as part of the inspection for the grand opening of former 'NSync singer Joey Fatone's new restaurant, Silva said. An announcement was made over the mall's public announcement system prior to the test preparing customers for the noise.

Yes...right down the street from me, and all over the local news. The coverage is pretty embarrassing...for Americans of today.

You obviously have not been briefed on "the message"
Guns are so dangerous that even the threat of semi-automatic assault weapons is enough to hurt nine people...
...not a shot was fired. Just the threat was enough to injure nine people; imagine how many innocent people could have been killed if there had really been a semi-automatic-assault-weapon present at the mall that day. The NRA must be stopped before MORE people are injured by the threat of semi-automatic-assault-weapons.
Horrific things might have happened.

I can see it now...the mall administrators making announcements over the intercom that there is about to be some loud noises so as not to startle anyone they wanted them to be prepared and have fore-warning that it was about to occur.
But wait, the sheep are in their herds with their heads down while texting and talking and ignoring the message as being just some more mall white noise. Then the bang happens and the herd tramples one another running from the very thing they were warned about.
Yep...that makes perfect sense to me!

This is what you get with unregistered balloons!
We need common sense balloon regulations.
Balloons have no place in a public mall.

And no one should need more than 1 or 2 balloons at any time.

When balloons are outlawed only clowns will have balloons.

Those balloons are deadly too. Almost as many homicides per year as the venerable AR-15 (*pre-ban era.) Sometimes they are responsible for mass ballooning into the ground resulting in multiple homicides - like the one recently in Texas. Usually preceded by popping noises, fireballs, and incineration.
* Pre BAN AR-15 rifles, AK-47 equivalents and all other military lookalikes with at least one or all of these features: bayonet lug, pistol grip, shrouded barrel, a flash hider and detachable magazine, were responsible for less than 1.4% of all homicides in the USA. Bolt-action rifles and shotguns held a slightly higher percentage but still not comparable to small pistols, revolvers and edged weapons. [I seem to remember reading that hammers killed more people before 1994 than AR-15s] However, since the Democrats and the Brady Foundation made them popular since 1994, well that number continues to increase (still relatively small but increasing.)

Panic at LAX last night as "loud noises" cause mass terminal evacuations, people spilling out onto the tarmac, a full FAA ground stop, and all around mass chaos. This comes a week after loud noises at JFK caused a crap-ton of panic.

Sign of the times. Haven't the last eight years been worth it!
What airport was just evacuated because someone 'thought' they "saw" someone with a gun? (No one was found and the police confirmed that no shots were fired and no shell casings were ever found...hey dumbass, no one said "shots were fired" only that someone thought they saw someone with a gun.) But hey for an "abundance of caution" lets evacuate 10,000 people and cancel 250 flights and then re-screen everyone.
Cops, agents, and yes even Air Marshals carry guns in the airport, feel sorry for the dumbass that got his shirt caught over his piece...(no not really) but it happens.
(ETA: JFK. I get confused it's too many each week.)
