EPIX Pulls Katie Couric’s Fraudulent Documentary “Under The Gun”

Just two weeks after first airing and one week after director Stephanie Soechtig and executive producer/narrator Katie Couric were caught in a scandal where Soechtig replaced the answer to a question with footage shot at a different time, the streaming media channel EPIX has pulled their original film.
A Visit to the movie’s page on the EPIX site is met with the warning, “THIS MOVIE IS NOT CURRENTLY PLAYING ON EPIX.”
Soechtig, Couric, EPIX, and Couric’s employer Yahoo! News have been under intense pressure since news of the fraudulent edit was posted just a week ago.

Didn't she do the story, or was part of it, about the exploding gas tanks on cars, and was later exposed as having an igniter in place on the test vehicles when they DIDN'T explode?

Why can't "journalists" who get caught editing interviews/soundbytes/etc., or purposefully lying have their journalist card revoked?

If they are in the Philippines, they could become legitimate targets for assassination.

Philippine president-elect Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday that corrupt journalists were legitimate targets of assassination, as he amped up his controversial anti-crime crusade with offers of rewards for killing drug traffickers...
Wondering what the rewards are? Can foreign nationals play "kill the drug dealer"? Can we bring our own weapons/ammo/fire team? And if we find drug money, can we keep it?
So many questions.

No, but they do have to admit to making a "mistake" and say that they are sorry in order to make it all better.
In a sane world, she would be blackballed for having a lack of ethics and for being untrustworthy.... but then that would require news orginizations and their owners to have ethics as well... oh and for the general population to care.

There's a separate wallet-card which identifies the bearer as a Bottom-Feeding Lying Journalist; issued at the same time coincident to payment of some union dues probably. That one is irrevocable.

You have to if you want the word out there. I've met competent and completely incompetent press folks. And I've met some that when they've made mistakes will not fix them and would rather lie. Larry Parsons form Monterey comes to mind.
