Chris Kyle embellished about how many medals he got.

I tried searching for another thread about this info but didn't find any.

Is the information in this article accurate? It states that the Navy warned Kyle that his medal count in his book was inaccurate but he went ahead and published it anyway?

Who cares, the man is dead let his legacy rest in peace.

From the article you referenced.

"According to two current Navy officials, inaccurate information about Kyle’s awards is also contained in his separation document, known in the military as a DD214, which usually reflects a veteran’s official service record. Kyle’s DD214 form, which lists two Silver Stars and six Bronze Stars with Valor among his decorations, also differs from the number of Bronze Stars with Valor — five — that Kyle listed in his book."

How did inaccurate information get here? Is it inaccurate? I don't know so far everything is speculation.

1.

1. This is an Army SF related board.

2. He was a SEAL.

3. This has been posted on just about every military related board in the past couple of days.

4. And he's dead.

If you want to pound your fingers on a key board about this subject find a SEAL related Forum

I agree. The time to say something was when he was alive.

(I guess I should not be telling folks at the bar I've got 4x Silver Stars, 3x DSC's and was put in for the MOH 2 times but they are all classified, black ops, hush hush stuff. And that my commander was Wolfgang Hammersmith. (Call of Duty "expert".))
