Prince,, He wrote song for The Donald!!
Prince,, RIP
Interesting song..
He wrote for The Donald in 1990..
He also wrote music for Ronald Reagan..
Quote:
One of my (The Analytical Economist) favorite bits of information about Prince that emerged following his death Thursday is that back in 1990 he wrote a song about a future presidential candidate.
The slow jam, titled “Donald Trump (Black Version)” appeared on The Time’s last album Pandemonium.
Give it a listen below:
To quote a brief sampling of the lyrics:
“Donald Trump (black version), maybe that’s what you need.
A man that fulfills your every wish, your every dream.
Donald Trump (black version), come on take a chance.
A 1990s love affair, the real romance.”
You may recall Prince also wrote and sung advice to a sitting president, Ronald Reagan, back in the day.

I was never a big fan beyond a couple of his early hits. On the other hand, HH6, who is musically inclined was a huge follower from the moment he appeared on the scene. I thought she summed up her feelings well the day Prince died: "He was my Elvis."

I didn't like Prince, Ziggy Stardust, Ozzy Osbourne, or the other 80t's bands..

Hell of a guitarist, though. I liked several of his songs and the fact that he kept away from LA and the gansta influence.
RIP, Prince.

Not a fan of his performance style, but the underlying music writing was simply brilliant.
And definitely an amazing guitarist.
About 3:25 in the video.

I'm thinking not..... I'm sure we will find the poor guy died of a drug overdose.
The headline says it all. Personally I'd like to see an all out war on drugs and the cartels.
EXCLUSIVE: Prince's former drug dealer tells how the legend spent $40,000 at a time on six-month supplies of Dilaudid pills and Fentanyl patches - highly addictive opioid pain killers - for 25 years

Probably. For some reason drugs have always been a problem in music and the arts in general. I was referencing the "thug culture" that todays black music has embraced.

Well, in October of '81 he came to Los Angeles and opened for the Rolling Stones at the Coliseum. Didn't make it through the first song though before he got pelted with trash and booed off the stage. Legendary concert promoter Bill Graham got the same treatment when he came onto the stage later to reprimand the audience for their behavior.
Never gonna forget that one.
Actually did like a few of his songs but not really a fan.

I vaguely remember that; I still lived in Hollywood then. Weren't there several other opening bands there too? I don't think that Prince was very well know in '81 so that might have had something to do with it.
Graham managed to get into every act, somehow. I remember him at a Jefferson Airplane concert in Tucson, in the early '70s, walking up and down the aisles reprimanding audience members who were shouting out for White Rabbit. Eventually Grace told them that they would get to the old stuff later in the show and that they wanted to showcase the new album first. She was pretty curt in her delivery, though, and that mad the audience even madder.
