Wounded Warrior Project execs fired

The question is will this fix the issues plaguing WWP?

Wounded Warrior Project execs fired
By CHIP REID, JENNIFER JANISCH CBS NEWS March 10, 2016, 5:34 PM

The two top executives of Wounded Warrior Project were fired Thursday by the board of directors.

Americans donate hundreds of millions of dollars each year to the charity, expecting their money will help some of the 52,000 wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But CBS News found Wounded Warrior Project spends 40 to 50 percent on overhead, including extravagant parties. Other veterans charities have overhead costs of 10 to 15 percent

Wounded Warrior Project's Chief Executive Officer, Steven Nardizzi, and Chief Operating Officer, Al Giordano, were fired after a meeting Thursday afternoon in New York.

Let's hope so.
It is a large established org and could really do a great deal.
I gave to them years ago until the spree spending started.
Now only to the SOF org.

They took corrective action only after they got caught. It doesn't seem to me that there are sufficient safeguards to prevent a recurrence. I don't see me supporting them now, or in the future ....

That's some increase in spending on conferences and meetings.

Wounded Warrior Project's top execs reportedly fired amid lavish spending scandal

"According to the charity's tax forms obtained by CBS News, spending on conferences and meetings went from $1.7 million in 2010, to $26 million in 2014, which is the same amount the group spends on combat stress recovery."

Wounded Warrior Project is nothing but a scam

Wounded Warrior Project is nothing but a scam. We've been saying that for years.

I'm sure these bottom-feeders will find another military "charity" to feed off of.......

I donated when they first started. They were good then and supported those who needed support. As they got bigger they were more interested in raising money and taking care of themselves than anything else. Needless to say, we stopped giving years ago.

The Green Beret Foundation is my charity of choice now.

Heh. Let's see how long it takes them big stars (incl Bruce Willis) to put up a cease & desist order on those commercials, since they didn't pull 'em when it was already known that this was likely to break the mainstream news.
