Defense chief: A-10s needed to bomb ISIS

If they would only register here they could have come to this decision long ago.

Prolly no need to "carpet bomb" when you can dump a full load - eyes on - close range in 17 seconds.

Until we develop a coherent plan to eliminate ISIS and have the resolve to see it through, it doesn't matter what hardware we use to chip against the edges of ISIS.

Admitting the A-10 needs to stay around longer for this fight is really more of a strategic admission that western leaders are unwilling to commit to crushing ISIS quickly. Containment and attrition seem to be the idea d'jour, never mind the buggers may squirt out to some other wasteland and set up shop. If we're going to fight, we should fight to win.

Citing this particular operational need as the justification for keeping the Hog around is their de-politicized way of avoiding the fact that they said stupid shit, and then looked stupid for it, in the face of contrasting A-10 vs. alleged F-35 capabilities.

They're still self-serving morons, at a level of indifference to actual CAS needs bordering on treasonous. They just get to move to an opportunity to look stupid & self-serving on something else next week (after they phone McCain and make nice).

Oh, snap! Did I just send that in the clear?
