Reggie White

Well this pisses me off. Earlier this season the NFL allowed the players to wear the US Flah on their helmets (IIRC) for 1 game. They had at least one player who refused to take it off and instead chose to pay the per game fine and keep wearing the flag to honor our men and women in the service.

I understand there are only 2 or 3 games left but the NFL is allowing the players to wear Reggie Whites number on their helmets for the rest of the season.

WTF is that all about?

Don't forget that Jake Plummer was fined or threatened with a fine for wearing Pat Tillman's #40.

That is what I meant, my apologies. It was Tillmans Jersey # and not the flag. Thanks CG!

It looks like it is only Green Bay wearing the number but it still pisses me off. While they only have one regular season left I guess they will have a post season too. I don't know as I do not watch football.

Earlier this week there was a big ordeal on ESPN radio. Seems the Green Bay Packers lowered the Flag to half mast to honor his death. Veterans, rightfully so, called in and were outraged. I'm sure Reggie was a good person, but that is out of line.

No problem! You'd think that Philly would do this too since White made his name playing for them before going to Green Bay. He also spent his last year playing for Carolina so where's the love?

I like football, but it seems like pro sports in general are one or two dumb decisions away from collapsing like the NHL is doing and like baseball has tried to do. Their arrogance and greed get in the way of the end result.

Persoanlly, I'd take Pat Tillman over White's over inflated self any day of the week.

I concur CG. Professional sports has become less a sport than entertainment, and completely unprofessional over the past twenty years or so.

No worries, only the Eagles team flag was flown at half mast in Philly, NOT Old Glory. Rumor has it some of the local lads who provide coverage for said games made sure of that.
