Who said the Brit's don't have a sense of humor.....

BBC 'Angered Muslim Staff' By Holding Hog Roast Under Windows of Arabic TV Service
by Nick Hallett 3 Aug 2014, 5:57 AM PDT

The Sun on Sunday reports that a whole pig was spit-roasted in the courtyard of New Broadcasting House in London, with the smell of pork drifting up through the windows of the mainly Muslim office. Workers described their "horror" at spotting the pig on their lunch break.

Islam forbids its followers from eating pork as pigs are considered "unclean" animals. The hog roast also happened on Friday, just days after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

One Iranian journalist who saw the roast shared a photo before writing: "Horror in my lunch break at BBC New Broadcasting House".

Although the BBC obsesses over "diversity" and issues all new employees with a survey that asks questions about their religion, sexuality, economic background and disabilities, it seems to have made an unfortunate slip in this instance.

One BBC insider told the Sun on Sunday: "Lots of people were furious about the hog roast as they felt it was disrespectful.

"The positioning so close to their offices made it seem that it was being flaunted in front of them."

A BBC spokesman insisted that no "official" complaints had been made.

I'm thinking a BLT sounds pretty good.

LOL! You know until recently in life, I never had such a great respect for properly roasted pork.

But now? I firmly believe that it can truly bring you closer to god by consuming it!

I just made these the other day...some nice juicy pork butts, and from smoker to being pulled, (by my "pit boss,) the aroma was enough to make you want to...well, you know!

Um ... Echoes,
Have I told you lately that I love you?
And -- by the way -- where exactly is the roast pork?

Given a choice between:
-peace, love, basketball, and diversity
-roast pork

I'll go with the roast pork

Now that was funny. Do you suppose someone did that on purpose?

I wouldn't say that the British don't have a sense of humor, it's just that their humor is a little more cynical, cerebral and dry.

MMMMM Bacon

Will in Iraq I had three Iraqi translators that ate with us in the Mess Hall ( I refuse to call it a DFAC ). I asked them if when they first started eating in the mess hall if they ever ate bacon not knowing what it was. The all answered yes. Then I asked them if they liked it and two of them said it was about the best tasting thing they ever had and that although they stopped eating it they wished they could. The third guy said it was the worst ever and he was ashamed he ate it, we could tell he was lying.

Incredible Sir!!!

And well, I have had my fair share of folks this season who are not "supposed" to eat it, but once tried, well, you know!

I will just call it, "god's food." For it seems to bring folks together. Lol.
