Looks like someone will need to start a civilian confidence swim class.

At last!

My "Avatar" spent much of his time underwater (at least it seemed to me at the time) fighting off 'enemy agents' or other 'bad guys' who attacked him - often with their dive knife.

My biggest disappointment when I started diving at age 12 (besides single-hosed regulators ) was that NO ONE ever 'attacked' me underwater (except in my certification pool classes - but they just turned off my air).

I guess I need to move to Hawaii.

I watch this a couple time in the last week. They two divers may be spear fishing( c long 'sticks' ) or they may be picking up a drug drop??

I haven't dove the Pacific, What are the two cylindrical "sponges" in the picture? Could they be dry bags?

According to an article I read, with video (which I'll try to find and edit into this post), the diver who was 'attacked' was with an organization (I think one of Sea Shepherds offshoots) that is attempting to stop the unauthorized capture for sale of reef fish - in this particular case, she said juvenile yellow tangs. The cylindrical objects are supposedly the containers in which they place the captured fish, and the 'long sticks' are nets of some kind.

This isn't the one, but explains the incident.

The 'attacker' does, apparently, 'brandish' a dive knife while approaching... unless, once again, my eyes fail me.
