My grandpa had the last working outhouse in town. The city sent him a letter which stated he had to get hooked up to the city sewer system. Grandpa marched down to city hall, slammed the letter down, and declared that "nobody was going to s&@t in his house". Poor grandma didn't get an indoor toilet until grandpa died.

My youngest uncle fell through the toilet in the outhouse when he was about 4. Grandpa finally got him fished out. Grandpa had 8 kids at the time, and told grandma "it would be easier to make another one than to clean that little bastard up".

Ok, no more outhouse stories.
