There is an auction of several custom blades going on right now at bladeforums.com to benefit the widow of knifemaker Rob Simonich. I don't know if this link will work unless you are registered there, but this is the first auction thread:

Knifemakers who have contributed custom knives to this auction include Jerry Hossom, Mick Strider, Duane Dwyer, R.W. Clark, Rob Patton, Tom Mayo and Trace Rinaldi. Rob was killed returning from a good hunt one year ago last weekend.

I have two full size 1911's both have gunners grips. My requirements are quite different from the majority here, but they work great for me. I think this was mentioned in an earlier thread but the Marines have selected them in Coyote Brown for the ICQB 1911 . Kimber will use them on thier "Warrior"(hate the name) model.
