US to give up control of the internet

U.S. officials announced plans Friday to relinquish federal government control over the administration of the Internet, a move likely to please international critics but alarm some business leaders and others who rely on smooth functioning of the Web.

While I understand the global community's desire for the US to release control, a BIG part of the web is the control of the root DNS servers, as assigned by ICANN, which tell computers how to get everywhere on the web. Addition of other root DNS servers in other countries provides would be attackers with points that may be of suspect security.

Many people may believe that this is not a big deal, but the internet has been used in recent years to take over critical communication functions. For example, most telephone systems are actually VOIP (voice over internet protocol) now with their signal transferred over the internet. The Federal Reserve allows banks to post their transactions using the internet system to move money between banks. The tendrils of the internet are everywhere in our economy and national infrastructure. Even many functions of our power grid are performed across the internet.

I can't even begin to go over all the ramifications of this move. Why in the world would we give up control of a system that effectively provides our day to day communications between everyone from individuals through the government and the entire private sector? This is flat stupidity.

Why does this government do anything? Why does our government allow women in Louisiana to buy their lingerie with food stamp money? I am sure that this move will save them some money that can be better spent on social programs.

This is the Signal that things will soon accelerate against Capitalism and "Free" Land owning peoples.

The price of Goods and Services related to the Internet will soon "Necessarily" Skyrocket in order for the UN to become a self-funding organization. (Right now it is primarily a hat-in-hand type funding by assigning member countries fees.)

With total control over the Net, (Think,.. Omnipotent power) they can raise money and funds at will by adjusting fees and taxes from voluntary users of internet services. (You have so much when so many others have so little). Whenever they need an extra Billion,.. they will just raise fees, install new taxes or, perhaps, capture an associated bank account or two while investigating a serious (Sarc) accusation. All this will come at us from a Governing body that already deems you guilty,... until you spend enough to prove your not as guilty as you were accused of being.

Private entities start making their own phone books, and the internet becomes even more decentralized.

As you look deeper into this, the US control was never challenged. The two top UN guys are Russian and Chinese educated (spelled Communist) types and herald Communist like controls over the Internet. Even when the UN attempted to vote it up, EU, Canada and US thwarted it.

The big agenda item is the individual Nations (States) can have absolute control over Internet within and into their Nation. There will be no allowance for subversion or privacy for domain name holders and providers. There will be no allowance for a foreign operation to hide behind any privacy curtain. This in essence, will allow a Nation to llimit, block and to conduct cyber warfare against anyone that posts differing opinions about the host Nation.

Socialists and Communists do not want any freedoms on the Internet.

The glaring part of this is that every nation was content with American control over the Internet and naming conventions.

Until the entire NSA spying on our Allies blew up in our face. Europe wants America to be brought down several notches; maybe even thrown off the playground. European nations can never be great, as long as America has control.

Unlike when my ancestors came here, America today is a country to immigrate to, so you can help destroy the American spirit.
