I am guessing that if this is going to be a new norm...............
The argument will be that they need to use said funds there in order to look presentable whilst job hunting.
Right....................
Its a self licking ice cream cone. Business owners in low income areas know that if they accept the EBT card, business will almost be guaranteed. Additionally, if you can come up with a new way to justify accepting EBT cards at places like beauty shops or department stores (im sure thats next) then you stand to make a great deal of money.
I mean, can you really blame the business owners?

In Colorado they can now be used in the marijuana shops' atms. The shops take cash only so most have atms. The Democratic legislature didn't want to limit the use of the cards.
Sigh.
Welfare Grass
I'd rather see them get extensions that dope.

Nearly 80% of the House's new Farm bill for 2014-2023 $743.9 billion is for food stamps and nutrition.

I see the logic in this. Use EBT to buy grass. Smoke grass. Get the munchies. Use SNAP card to satisfy munchies.
