The thread about the Best/Worst war movies sent me on a search for this gem about Viet Nam. A motion picture team is assigned to follow a LRRP team to film a "lessons learned" training film.
There are certainly some nit-pickable moments, but most, if not all, are due to the film's low budget (weapons) or to let the audience meet the team and listen in on a concurrent mission (external speaker for the radio). The Jarhead cover one guy wears is a tip-of-the-hat, so the speak, to Dale Dye (Warriors Inc.) and Russ Thurman, both former combat Marines and Technical Advisers on the film. There is also one item that the Chairborne Rangers point to as a "get up and leave" error, but it's not.
