I use it when traveling outside the US. A few of the countries I go to have sniffers and block using some software I use so I use TOR to get past it.

Yes it can be hacked just like any thing can but I am not hiding anything from the USG so I do not care.

TOR and VPN are useful. IMO is depends on what kind of computer you have (MS to MAC) and what your overall wants. Witopia is the one I was introduced to, and that is what i use on my MAC. There are other companies out there, but you just have to find one that is able to do what you want.

Do the comparison between TOR browser and VPNs, you will see the difference. One diffrence Witopia VPN is a service, so there is a charger but it is small...like $50 for the year. I like service driven TOR and VPNs because they typically make updates when someone has "broken in" on the system.
