From your article:

"The new regulation comes as Huy Fong is in the midst of a legal battle with the city of Irwindale, where its factory is located. The city sued the company earlier this year, claiming that spicy odors from the factory had caused or exacerbated health problems among residents. In November, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ruled that the plant must immediately stop any odor-causing production until experts can identify and mitigate the smell."

This was on the local news recently and I shed a tear when I heard it. I make Bún thịt nướng occasionally so having it is crucial. It also goes well on pretty much everything

There are other brands. Is Huy Fong special for some reason? We've got Crying Tiger in the pantry.

Peoples Socialist State of Kaliforina

Sriracha maker ordered to halt sauce shipping for 30 days

Obviously they did NOT pay the proper bribe to the right democrat, I've no sympathy as they are located in the Peoples
Socialist State of Kaliforina.

I'd move the company to Texas if they shut me down for 30 days.

Not sure if there's a difference because I've never had Crying Tiger. I should check that out.

They'll stay. California has cheap labor thanks to Jerry Brown who let the prisoners out.

"Why are people complaining about the chili smell when this is an industrial area?" he asked. "There's burning rubber down the street. There are other dangers in this city."

Sriracha job worries

The locals loved the company when they came and offered jobs.

Now a little pepper smell in the air and they want the company to cease all emissions, but keep the plant open.

Plus an additional 30 days of no shipping or income.

Socialist paradise reminiscent of the Soviet era.

Pack it up, close it down, and move to a free state.

Several years ago, Irwindale offered Al Davis $10,000,000 to consider moving the Raiders there. He considered it, then moved them back to Oakland, keeping the ten mil. I guess Irwindale has money to burn.

I met one of the sons at a Calif State Health seminar. Nice kid. Awful for something like this to occur. If I was Huy Fong, I would move out of state...

Well...

Well, I put it on a sandwich like some use mustard or ketchup.

Gotta be careful holding the bread, squeeze too hard and some of the "red" leaks through. Gets on your fingers - look out.

Just ate one and still have a warm glow.

I use it on sai-mein and pho. I add enough to make my lips tingle. It takes the soup up a notch...

Tabasco quietly releases its own sriracha hot sauce

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/...ntcmp=features
Quote:
“They know there’s going to be a sustainable demand and they’re gearing up for it, so they become the known brand,” says Darren Tristano, a food industry consultant with Technomic told Time.

Tabasco Sriracha, at $4.99 for a 15 oz. bottle, its sauce is pricier than Hoy Fong’s that retails for under $3 for a 17 oz. bottle.
