IMO, with respect to the good representative's proposed discussion - Libya is reasonably considered part of the Middle East political discussion - even if geographically located in North Africa.
The real problem is her apparent lack of candor and her unwillingness to seemingly address her constituent's legitimate concerns. She looks like a deer trapped in the headlights rather than a duly elected member of Congress and a leader addressing real problems.
Her attitude reminds me a bit of an adolescent caught in a lie.
FWIW, both Aljzeera and the BBC regularly include Libya in Middle East discussions and reporting.
