She is so noble.
"By resigning I am protecting these important new laws for the good of Colorado and ensuring that we can continue looking forward," Hudak wrote in her resignation letter in regard to her gun votes, which led to the recall effort.

The Secretary of State (CO) has formerly accepted Senator Hudaks resignation.
We have suspended our RecallHudakToo.org campaign.
The Denver Pest features yours truly (my best side) listening to the resignation press conference. Sen. Hudak declined to show up.
I can unofficially announce that we had the necessary signatures to recall her by the end of the fourth week...
Moving forward, the Democratic party will appoint a replacement. It is unclear if this will force an election for her seat in 2014 or during the seats regularly scheduled election in 2016.
There will be a victory party at 1500 this Sunday at the RecallHudakToo office. A STAG AR15 will be presented to one lucky volunteer at that time.

What would have been her replacement procedure if she had been recalled? Would a special election have been required?

Excellent work! Would have liked seeing your recall efforts come to fruition. The Democratic Party in Colorado went from arrogant to scarred in a few short months, the senate head was recalled, another rep from Pueblo went down, this, and it is clear the Govenor is running very scarred as he has been on a highly publicized disaster relief mission ever since. Govenor H.Your vote to take away rights and regulate others was ludicrous, I suppose you realize that now...

She lacks the conviction of her vote. Since she saw the handwriting on the wall she skipped out so that another dim can be selected to fill her seat. Otherwise a special election may have put a conservative in it.

The SOS would have 60d to certify the recall, the Governor would have 60d to set a date (Feb/Mar14), and the lawyers would take their sweet time delaying and mucking things up. Yes.

So, you lost. She will be replaced with a clone picked by the dims and nothing changes; hence this quote: "By resigning I am protecting these important new laws for the good of Colorado and ensuring that we can continue looking forward,..." Am I wrong?

So she quits while behind, and claims it protects the gun laws.
I normally restrain myself on here, but what a dumb bitch.
Congratulations, MR2 and all of you from CO. Never thought I would see this happen.

The seat stays dim so technically she won.

damn shame that by resigning the seat is filled by a dim and not by election, or temp filled by appointed dim and a special election for that one seat, but hey in a perfect world huh?
good riddance to that one, maybe there can be a recall of the new appointment.

Well, could start
Well, could ask the new one the day they're sworn in where they stand on repealing the law....
... then start their recall.

Win? Only in the short term, I think. Blood is in the water and the free people of Colorado can taste it. Now, if only the Republican clown party can manage to refrain from stamping on their d*cks with golf shoes and recognizes the efforts of MR2 and others, this state might yet have a future.

Bye, bye Evie! I kind of like the "recall" shirts. Any way I may buy one?
