FBI Rifles Stolen

Please Return; Reward Offered

The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the return of 2 rifles that were, as O’Ryan Johnson of the Boston Herald reports, “stolen from an FBI SWAT emergency response vehicle.”

The weapons were an M-16 and a "sniper rifle" in .308 caliber. The kind of scary looking guns that we are told must be kept out of the hands of irresponsible civilians and entrusted only to wise, trained professionals.

Five bucks says no one gets fired and the individual responsible will be head weapons instructor at FLETC or Ast Dir for Homeland Security...........

You are so right TS, if this would have happened in Mother Army, bunches of heads would have rolled..Civillians, no concept of accountability or responsibility.

Looks like it was just a "teenage prank."

Really??? There's crime in Southy?? Seriously??? I spent several long weekends there 1974, 1976-78. Whitey Bolger never let anyone do anything bad. Especially to his buds with the FBI.

The South End of Boston is not the same as South Boston aka Southie.

Thanks for the correction, Tony. Back then I only went to Southie, pretty much, so "South End" was what I figured was the new PC term for that area. LOTS of Jarheads from there. I did venture out to Peabody to visit an institution called the "Golden Banana (?)." And being from the real Deep "South"ie, I've not had a chance to return to there since. Took my family to do the Freedom Trail a couple of years ago and other than MOFA, stayed downtown.

You have been to some great places.

With the family...Minuteman National Park and the Old North Bridge are worth a visit as is the USS Consitution.

When you have a minute to visit with the boys ...it's been a while but give me a heads up...the Banana is nice but tame (from a kid that rode his bike around the old Combat Zone). Now, RI is another story ! When schedules coincide...beers on me !!
