I read this too. Does anyone care what Iraq Sunni do to the Shia or the Shia do to the Sunni? I'm pretty sure they rejected a SOF agreement.

Iraqi PM: US Aid Needed to Battle al-Qaida

Oct 31, 2013Associated Press *|* by Lara JakesWASHINGTON - A bloody resurgence of al-Qaida in Iraq is prompting Baghdad to ask the U.S. for more weapons, training and manpower, two years after pushing American troops out of the country.

http://m.military.com/daily-news/201...1075741&rank=1

Look I've never been in Iraq so this is just reading and back ground information. First off we have no security agreement or SOAF with this country. I see this still as the Sunni vs Shai and nothing to do with AQI or anything along those lines. You can paint a black cat with a white strip down its back. May look like a skunk but still a Fuckin cat.

Lastly for all of you that have been working there as a PMC. All you can slash of the shit ton of oil companies in and along the major Highway from Basara and Rumayla. Hundreds; so if iraqi are charging for the land, per oil barrels and contracts? Same BS that happen during the war and years after. Let's get taken again.

New player on the media circle of game.

F*&k them. We already wasted more than 4,000 American lives and trillions of dollars there.

Let 'em go to their buddies, the Chinese, that they gave the oil contracts to and ask them. Then they might find out that with most other countries, nothing is free.

What would we gain? And at what cost? IMO internal strife will make them less of a international threat, also this has it worry Iran, and if not it will cost Iran resources keep informed. It also gives the Kurds some breathing room while they focus on other issues. I don't think Sunni and Shiites will live together without an iron fist forcing them to live together. But this is just my opinion.

Obama and Maliki discuss 'more active' al-Qaeda in Iraq

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24775713

"US President Barack Obama and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki have discussed how to counter a "more active" al-Qaeda in the country.

But following talks at the White House, nearly two years after the last US soldier left Iraq, Mr Obama did not unveil any new offer of military aid.

He stressed the importance of an inclusive and democratic Iraq.

Mr Maliki's visit to Washington DC, his first since 2011, comes as bloodshed hits a five-year high in Iraq. ..."

How do you fix it when the host nation insists on breaking it faster than it can be fixed. We have spent enough money and blood giving them their freedom. It's time for them to put on their big boy pants and figure it out for themselves.

As many of you are so fond of saying, I would tell them to go pound sand! They must be running out of our money.

Latest Aid message

In reversal, Obama says he will boost US military support in Iraq

http://www.stripes.com/news/middle-e...-iraq-1.250643

"WASHINGTON — Facing a deadly resurgence of al-Qaida in Iraq, President Barack Obama signaled Friday that he will begin increasing U.S. military support for Baghdad after five years of reducing it.

The new U.S. plan represents a remarkable shift for Obama, whose administration trumpeted the 2011 withdrawal of the last U.S. troops from Iraq as a major achievement and has since shifted its attention to other regional challenges, such as Syria, Egypt and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict......"

The first message must not have gone over well with his masters.

Pretty odd for a guy that opposed ANY intervention...
...spoke out on the surge
...ran on a platform that said he'd get us out ASAP
...talked about the overspending of defense dollars on "two wars"
...refused to work a sofa deal to close out Iraq the right way

Nothing like half-assing your exit for building credibility

Time for them to stand on their own. We pissed away enough money into a failed country. What I would really like to see in the numbers from all the projects that were supposed to have happened or were falsified for the money that is unaccounted for. Beside didn't Odierno recently state the due to sequestration we only had 2 Brigades fully combat ready. Seems that money would be better spent training our own than wasted on country that will not stand on it's own feet

Another civil war I don't want to have to go referee.

The POTUS continues to make bad decisions.

I thought Joe Biden had the SOFA responsibility?
