Was the Govt. shutdown a "Wag the Dog" type seniero?
Captain Conspiracy Theory here again,
What if the government shutdown was planned long ago by the true power behind Barry's throne, Valerie Jarrett? That this was perpetrated by her to shift focus away from the numerous scandals rocking Barry's administration (Benghazi, NSA/FBI scandals, Fast & Furious, etc. etc. etc.) and blame it on the GOP, thus giving the Dems (her) more power to further destroy this country.
I saw this story posted in several other places, and a friend of mine (a past member of this BB, who is a former QP, here in CO) brought up on his FB wall about how fast the signs "magically" appeared at the various parks, offices, monuments, etc., with the logos and wording of the govt. shutdown, all over the country, less than four hours after the shutdown was announced.
Quote:
Bombshell: White House planned shutdown
'Republicans walked into a trap set up by Valerie Jarrett, Obama'
WASHINGTON — The shutdown was deliberately orchestrated by the White House, according to the former foreign editor of Newsweek and editor-in-chief of the New York Times Magazine.
Why would the White House intentionally cause such pain and havoc across the country?
It is a ploy to win votes, concluded author Ed Klein.
He told the New York Post that President Obama’s closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett, developed a strategy to force a showdown with Republicans over Obamcare.
Jarrett recommended shutting down government because, Klein said, she believed voters would pin the blame on Republicans.
And that would give Democrats the opportunity to win control of the House of Representatives in the 2014 midterm elections.

It also tested the "waters" as to how the (We The) People would react, and just which buttons to push to cause the most outrage within the rank and file. It has been suggested that the guy with the rebel flag at the Million Vet March was a plant. People brought up the fact that he wasn't dressed like someone who would be waving a rebel flag. His jeans were too clean and crisp and hos boots were ones not typically seen worn by "rednecks". No, they were valued somewhere n the neighborhood of $350.00, and looked as if they had just been bought and not very well broken in. Something someone going to a march/demonstration wouldn't want to do, wear new, uncomfortable shoes/boots. There were a few other things brought up that suggested he wasn't who he seemed to be.
Now that the shutdown is over, the press will now focus on the fact that we're going to have to possibly do this all over again in January. That this measure passed tonight is only a small bandaid to the larger problem facing us, thus turning their attention away from the crimes Barry and Hillary committed. That Eric Holder is still running loose. The NSA is still monitoring EVERYONE.
We can talk all we want to about the shutdown, but the fact of the matter remains, there are still these other issues we need to re-address and not let slip into obscurity.

Personally, I think your original title was more accurate (from search results)

None of this is over by the way... it just stages a January showdown again. Nothing is fixed.

No need to wonder about what Obama, Jarret and the rest of the Bad Dream Team are up to; just read Alinsky.
If the action is recommended in "Rules for Radicals", they're doing it.
I don't think there's a low they wouldn't stoop to in order to keep focus away from The Scandals.
Problem is, half the Country couldn't care less (or so the press would have us think).

Maybe they knew that there was possibility of a shutdown and they purchased them in advance.
They conspired to shut down the government and purchased the needed signage in advance.
The government shut down, they needed signage for the affected and paid for express service.

Tin Foil, the Heavy Duty Grilling kind.
Here ya go:
Within four hours, ready made signs and barricades were put in place at National Parks and other National facilities. We didn't even know they had those S.O.P.'s, let alone see them rehearsing them. Even did this in Europe
Faster than the 82nd can go wheels up.
Yet there was no Benghazi rescue effort.
Tin Foil is disappearing fast at WalMart.

So you and your friend don't think the NPS and others might have been more or less prepared for such an eventuality after years of budget wrangling brouhaha and hyperbolic posturing on all sides of the political spectrum which have yet to yield a federal budget for the last several years combined with on-going blogospheric calls for boycotts, marches, gatherings, etc?

NPS Leadership
Maybe the NPS leadership should be spread out to cover other functions of the Federal Government. They have appeared to be equipped, ready and able to act with little notice.

Good rationalization.
You'd make a good defense lawyer for the administration, Richard.

Act, maybe, but effective? The results of last week's actions make it appear as if the NPS is no more capable of securing our parks and monuments than the DHS is in securing our borders.

Richard,
Absolutely correct. Just more window dressing in the political theatre.

A shining example of the actual ineptitude of civil government. This is not targeting indviduals, but organizationally.
Realistically, tin-foil futures should plummet. Even with ALL the information necessary and tons of lead time, government agencies would be incapable of executing even a simple plan.

I can't speak for him, but as far as I'm concerned, to answer your question, no Sir I don't think the NPS had these "this place is closed due to the shutdown" just sitting in a dusty corner closet. Looking at how the signs changed from the last shutdown under Clinton (1995/1996) to present, and shutdowns previously, if there had been a recurring theme of govt. shutdowns why didn't the signage in the 90's look like they had been prepared, like the recent ones, instead of ad hoc like is shown in the below link.
No, I stand behind the theory that Jarrett and Barry planned this shutdown months ago, to get exactly what we've seen happen. With latest information of Chase bank refusing to let people do overseas money transfers starting 17Nov13, and the posturing of the within and around the WH and elsewhere around the country, these two have implemented their agenda and are running loose to destroy this country without the fear of any Congressional repercussions.
