Quidditch
Crazy Sh*t You Never Thought Possible-Until Now!!
I about lost it when I saw the flyer at the rec center over at Metro State Denver. It was promoting the Denver Quidditch team. Yes, the same game from the Harry Potter movies where kids zip around on brooms with the help of CGI. My first response was a loud "YGBSM!!!"
Here, this group of throat-punch candidates are actually running around pretending they are in a Harry Potter story. What's even more baffling is that they have an actual league with teams in cities across the country. WTF?!!! I'm guessing these guys were never issued man cards.
The video makes manhood weep.

What did you expect, it's Metro.
96.47% of the students there are ones that can't get into CU because they don't have enough money.

Quidditch? Isn't that what Obama was playing during the Benghazi attack?

My wife has informed me that this was pretty big at her alma mater...I didn't know that recess was a college class.
Why are college students reading children's books?
or
They're illiterate and only watched the movie?
Things like this make me doubt any hope for my generation.

Much of what I was drinking strangely came out my nose when I read this.
I still have enough Lacrosse equipment, I think we could give these guys a run for their money, probably even be fun

My son lost a friend today or yesterday...it was in Australia. I wasn't sure where, or if, to post it. This may actually be the proper thread.

Not all young guys are morons that run around with broomsticks between under their legs.

I keep thinking this is just a spoof to see who will bite. Anything else, well I am just embarrassed for these young "men." I also have a sinking feeling that this video is going to stick in my brain like gum on a sidewalk on a hot day. Why did I click on the link?!

Not to change the subject (even though it needs changing, please... before I advocate a return of the draft!), but your comment made me remember this gem from Stan Freberg's inventive mind:

My daughter plays on a team for her High School. I think they have something like 20 teams now, just in our one school. The kids love it, and take it more seriously than I would like at times.
Around here they don't use broom sticks, they use what we call "noodles". The floaty things kids take in the pool.
It is a good workout, not that I have ever played or anything

More likely these guys grew up with Harry Potter. The books have been around that long.
Still.

Check out the video at around 1:24. That is one huge mullet.
Hey, aren't those on the endangered list?
