'Black Hawk down' relic comes home to Fayetteville

'Black Hawk down' relic comes home to Fayetteville

http://fayobserver.com/articles/2013...46?sac=fo.home

"Exactly 20 years after the fierce battle that inspired the book and movie "Black Hawk Down,'' a piece of history from that notorious firefight has come home.

A twisted, splintered rotor hub from the first helicopter shot down over the Somali capital of Mogadishu on Oct. 3, 1993, is now at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in downtown Fayetteville.........."

Pretty interesting story on how it got to be there.

Of course we'll have to wait to see it..........

Welcome home.

What lessons have we learned? And for how long?

Hm, the story is gone. Now just the pictures.

The President's thugs must have call and told them since the government is shut down they are not allowed to write stories about museums.

Yeah, it's back...

Yeah, it's back.

Checked the link here and then went to the SFA site to post the story, posted it and then checked the link. Got only the pictures. Came back here and checked - just pictures. Now it's back.

Still - no notice in the story that the Museum is closed.
