Why? Certain "litmus test" questions are always asked of conservative jurists - think abortion, just for starters. And I should think it would only be prudent to know how she thinks about Constitutional matters -
I mean rendering judgments based upon the United States Constitution and not some irrelevant decisions based upon "International Law". It is the duty of the SCOTUS to render decisions based upon the Constitution of the United States - and nothing else. Oh how I wish we had more Antonin Scalia - types on the Supreme Court!
Of course, I doubt if it would really matter anyway, since most Republicans seem to fall all over themselves to approve anything the current POTUS does. Look at what was appointed to the Supreme Court over the last five years with the "advice and consent" of the Senate.
