Liberal senator Colin Kenny said the dispute reflects ongoing concerns in the military that the special forces are draining regular units of some of their best personnel.

“This has been the concern right from the beginning and it is a legitimate concern,” said Kenny, the former chairman of the senate defence committee. “What you’re likely seeing is a push-back from the regular units.”

While chairman of the defence committee, Kenny raised that issue and others, pointing out that the special forces command structure created during the Afghan war was draining money and staff from the conventional forces.

You will probably start hearing it again as the Army draws down and tightens its belt.

That's just liberal logic.

"We'll make life miserable for the best and brightest and then piss and moan when they get sick of our bullshit and move on to greener pastures."

Same thing happened in detroit.

I couldn't agree more with the statement having been in the receiving end of such blankety blank logic. When the O6 told me "we need to prevent a precedence," I knew being courteous and notifying the coc and branch about ARSOF transfer was a mistake. Some bridges are truly meant to be burnt
