Interesting photos.

It seems like the First World War has always been overshadowed by the second one. Considering that America was only involved for about a year and a half yet lost something like 100,000 personnel it was certianly just as bad.

I had the privilege of knowing several Veterans of the Great War and every one of them had an interesting story to tell, including my Grandfather.

My family physician inthe 70s was a WWI vet. He had a gravelly voice from being gassed and walked with a limp courtesy of a Hun shellburst.
I read a book a few years ago, Eye Deep in Hell, about trench warfare. I understand why the soldiers were convinced that The Great War would be the last war ever.
