I'm more traditional. I like the Roman motivational method called decimation.

The funny part is everyone wants someone else's congressman/woman gone but never their own!

I've said it for a few years now. Clean house, let the new crop know they have 1term to get it right and if they don't they will get replaced. Do that a few times and they will get the idea.

Also make it a part time job with no perks at all. Then you will get the guys in there that give a damn about this country and do the hard right think rather than the easy wrong.

Just my .02 worth.

Oh, not at all. As Rodney Dangerfileld would say, "Take Tammy Baldwin. Please. And Ron Kind could be her luggage boy."

Local, right?

C'mon Minnesota, where's all those Al Franken supporters?

And they can report to wherever MR2 directs.

You know... we could turn this into a WorldWide Pay-for-View Event.

Let highest bidders pull the lever.

Maybe event pay off the national debt...

Hmmm...

Maybe, just maybe I'll write a movie script.

Not me. My representation is worthless. It is what I get for moving back to Vermont. When I left in 72 to join the Army, Vermont was one of the most conservative states in the union and now I may be the only conservative left.

Who would want to see 50-70, 80, & 90 year olds duke it out? Axes, knives, and wiffle bats I would pay, last one standing lives. except my slugs, they're the best! We need a puking icon for this thread.

I agree with Alelks. Term limits for all politicians, same retirement/health benefits for all federal employees. You're a Senator? You get to use Tricare. You develop an illness or sustain a lasting injury while in office, you get the pleasure of using the VA.

Hell do not muck up Tricare any more than it is. Make them do what I had to do and pay for the Fed BCBS and file claims like the rest of us....... Keep them away from the VA also as they will try to be important and just run in and out.......

Members of Congress receive retirement and health benefits under the same plans available to other federal employees. They become vested after five years of full participation.

As far as 'term limits' go, that was a requirement under the Articles of Confederation and changed when the Constitution was written because the experiences of the 'Founders' under that form of government were that such a fiat did not work in developing a viably functioning national-level government.

We, the people, hold the 'lever' for the 'term limits guillotine' for our legislative body - we just need to think about it and apply it periodically at the polling station.

One man's "pork" is another man's "jobs program"

Collectively Congress rates at the lowest...but individually the Reps continue to get reelected.

So each voter chooses to despise the institution...but it isn't "Their guy/gal" who is the problem...'cause they are brining home the bacon.

America's choice to follow a 2-party system only lets them do so much as a voter...and reinforces the ability of those in power to remain so. Then, much like the last few elections, it isn't about who they are or what they do. It's about who they are NOT.
