The latest from his account approximately 11 hours ago, is that Al-Shabaab followed up with a visit of forces, apparently outnumbering he and his greatly.

From my very limited understanding of the Al Shabaab situation, they are too involved with an internal civil war between their leadership, factions, and other Al Qaeda groups to sort themselves out.

I'm happy that I'll never set foot in Somalia (famous last words).

@Daudoo on Twitter seems to have regular contact with Abu, but he doesn't seem to know Abu's status at this time.
