14 Injured in Knife Attack on Lone Star Campus

This guy cuts 14 people with an exacto knife before somebody takes him down?

So, when does the legislation to ban exacto knives commence?

Over 12 people were stabbed Tuesday on the campus of Lone Star Community College campus in Cypress, Texas, after a male suspect reportedly used a small knife, ran from building to building and randomly attacked individuals along the way.

Harris Country Sheriff Adrian Garcia said in a press conference Tuesday afternoon that the suspect, described as a young white male, has been taken into custody.

Garcia said officers responded to the campus after receiving a call about a male "on the loose" stabbing people. He said it was not immediately clear what type of weapon was used.

"Some of the details in the call slip did indicate that students or faculty were actively responding to work to subdue this individual," Garcia said, describing the man as being about 21 years old and enrolled at the college. "So we're proud of those folks, but we're glad no one else is injured any more severely than they are."

Garcia said buildings still were being searched Tuesday afternoon and that police could not release any further information as the investigation was still active and ongoing.

But department spokesman Thomas Gilliland did confirm, "It was the same suspect going from building to building."

I would guess from the "running and cutting" part - since it was a sharp blade - and the randomness of the attacks.

Most were like "What the hell is he doing - Oh Crap, I've been cut!" - and the guy was aways down the sidewalk/hallway heading for the next person.

Come on guys - I'm sure several people shouted at him to "stop". The fact that he didn't stop will be lost on liberals. We'll have to enact more "must-stop-when-yelled-at-to-stop" zones. After all, its for the kids.

I say we ban all knives or at least require background checks, a safe, opener locks, limited length and national registry.

After all people can just order these things online and have them shipped right to their homes. OMFG!!!

Don't forget about the WAL-MART loophole.

After all the founding fathers could have never envisioned the knives we have today.

Sen. Fienstien can be in charge of specifically naming allowed models

ETA: good on the crowed to step up and take the kid down.

Good one JimP....I was thinking the exact same thing. "Hey, I said STOP". Thankfully it was not HIS kids that were hurt, otherwise......I wonder what his views would be??

The United flight on 9-11 was hijacked by guys with boxcutters - I wonder how this incident will affect the TSA's considering allowing small pocket knives to be carried by passengers.

Fox new played an interview with a sophmore student that was priceless, almost like the NRA sent him in early to do interviews...

"The student said he heard commotion and screams of pain from a neighboring classroom, and then about 50 students huddled into that classroom unsure of what was taking place.

“God protected us in our classroom. We wish we could protect ourselves with guns and stuff. We wish that the law would let us carry guns because we’re legal adults, and carry guns on campus to protect ourselves. But so far what we have to rely on is God. We’d love to have God and the law on our side,” he said.

This was all over the news this after noon. CNN was playing badminton with this and the North Koreans ready to launch. Ill bet this dude blew the background check, I guess we got lucky this time.
