Nothing's too good for the troops!

I don't think too many civilians would be pleased to have military or VA medical coverage, even at a bargain price, considering the real price you pay to get it.

Obviously written by someone with no real knowledge of the programs.

Would like to see a comparison on the average cost per capita for military, congressional and federal (GS) health care programs. I suspect that even with the injured troops from down range that the congressional health care plan cost more.

Come to think about it, I would like to see a per capita cost comparison for all of the various federal health care plans. How many are there, does anyone know?

Would be funny if that information was made available and it turned out that the military was the lowest cost. Then what?

Will add that the $460 a year I pay as a retiree is pretty low cost and my family and I have no complaints with any facet of the coverage. A cost increase would not hurt me not one bit financially. But in principle, that whole free health care for life deal that I was promised in 1984, is slowly being chipped away at.

Send us to war for 11+ years. Have thousands killed, maimed, etc., and then, ALSO reduce our healthcare.

Ahhh...echoes of the Vietnam generation. Will it ever change?

And so it goes...

I really like this statement:

Without changes, Roughead said, the department could be transformed from "an agency protecting the nation to an agency administering benefit programs, capable of buying only limited quantities of irrelevant and overpriced equipment."

What the hell do they think they are doing by giving out all the free money to people who are too damn lazy to get a job and were taught "YES TAUGHT" how to live off the system. It's getting pretty darn close (in their own thinking) to the point where we could be transformed from a country protecting the nation to a country that can't afford to protect the nation because it's too busy giving FREE money to people who don't deserve it.

You put one crab in a pot and he'll climb out, you put a bunch of crabs in a pot and none of them get out because when one tries to climb out the others pull him right back into the pot.

I'm done ranting.

Not as long as we have career politicians who are also IDIOTS.

And here is a perfect example of one of those IDIOTS! Absolutely Clueless and she is sponsoring the bill.

Its expensive to keep guys alive; I know. It has already cost more to get me to this point than it cost to get Lee Majors back to his old self and I have more than a handful of surgeries to go before things are "right."

Its the right thing to do for those who have given of their bodies in the protection of this nation.

It is frustrating to see this happening; and that some politicians suggest reducing benefits to wounded soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines is simply outrageous . These wounded veterans deserve the best we can provide them... Not the scraps.

If you fuckers had stayed in school and got an education, you wouldn't be "stuck" in the military.

Get with the program and just be happy that you are 'allowed' to serve.
