Bataan survivor

I feel lucky to have met John L. M., a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He is the only surviving member from from his unit to come from the east coast. (N.C.). To hear just some of the conditions he endured can definitely change the average man's definition of "tough". I was lucky enough to meet this man in the airport. Getting to talk with him and getting a picture with him was even more so. The best part, however, was getting the opportunity to stop his wife from pushing him through the airport in his wheelchair when it was time to leave. I was compelled to show a little gratitude and did so myself. Thankfully, they appreciated the gesture and didn't call TSA on me. Could've been a completely different introduction to this time zone.
